From trouble sleeping to HeavyZleep
Behind HeavyZleep is the story of two families who struggled to create good sleep habits for their premature babies. These little angels slept restlessly and intermittently, sparking a search for a solution. Their salvation came in the form of the old, heavy “treatment duvets” that were designed to provide a good night's sleep. However, it soon became apparent that these duvets were not suitable for young children - they were too heavy and too expensive. It was clear that a better and more accessible solution had to be found.
Driven by their personal experiences, the founders of HeavyZleep, Tomas Taheri and Danny Guld Kristensen, decided to create their own vision of a heavy duvet. It had to be anything but a treatment duvet; it had to look like a real heavy duvet that hugged the body like the good old “grandma duvet”.
Authentic and sustainable
HeavyZleep's foundation is an authentic heavy, ball-free duvet where the filling consists of carefully selected duck feathers and down divided into cassettes to prevent clumping. The wool in HeavyZleep duvets is stronger and more energy-efficient than in regular duvets, ensuring long-term use. The feathers and down in the duvets are not just a product; they are part of the surplus production from the food industry, emphasising HeavyZleep's commitment to sustainability.
Perfect sleep since 2017
HeavyZleep's mission is to make the positive effects of heavy duvets accessible to everyone, not just premature babies or people with specific conditions. If you have trouble falling asleep, sleep restlessly or wake up frequently, a heavy duvet may be the answer. However, we strongly recommend avoiding duvets with plastic, beads, sand or other alternative fillers. Instead, choose a genuine heavy duvet with feathers and down.
Since its establishment in 2017, HeavyZleep has dedicated a significant amount of time to developing the perfect heavy duvet. A duvet that is not only heavy, but also feels like a regular duvet, only with extra weight. Through continuous integration of new research and ideas, HeavyZleep works to create alternative products that ensure the best possible sleep experience for their customers.
