From occupational therapist to collaborator
My name is Nanna Heide and I work as a private and freelance occupational therapist.
Throughout my career as an occupational therapist, I have encountered countless people who struggle to achieve good and adequate sleep. This has often had a significant and negative impact on their energy levels in daily life and work relationships, and in many cases has led to stress or sick leave.
I've often wondered why it wasn't easy to get a heavy duvet. It should be commonplace to sleep under a heavy and comfortable duvet, instead of the light duvets that almost float above you. A duvet like the heavy and cosy duvet I remember my grandmother having. A heavy duvet for more peace and quiet and better sleep.
In my search for a duvet with down and feathers, I came across HeavyZleep in Nykøbing Mors. Here I found exactly the type of duvet I was looking for. A duvet with down and feathers that is heavy, comfortable to sleep with and provides that special calm and good sleep experience.
After contacting HeavyZleep, we entered into an exciting and inspiring collaboration about the HeavyZleep duvet and good sleep.
Sleep well and how
The HeavyZleep duvet offers you peace, security and improved sleep. The weight of the duvet stimulates the production of the feel-good hormone serotonin and the sleep hormone melatonin, while reducing the stress hormone cortisol. Experience the de-stressing effect on your body, getting a deeper and more peaceful sleep. It's like getting an extra hug at night. One of the most crucial factors for our wellbeing and daily functionality is the quality and quantity of our sleep. In fact, insufficient or poor sleep can affect our health in many ways, including our immune system, appetite and stress management. That's why taking care of your sleep is of the utmost importance.
When using the HeavyZleep duvet, there are also other things you can do in your daily life to ensure the best and most energising sleep.
Focus points
- Physical Activity in Everyday Life: It is recommended to be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, for example with a walk.
- Evening routines: Avoid screens and TV at least an hour before bedtime. Remove your mobile phone from the bedroom. Go to bed at the same time every night, preferably before 23:00. Sleep is best in a dark and cool bedroom.
- Unload thoughts before bedtime: It's beneficial to “clear your head” before bedtime. Write down your thoughts on a piece of paper and leave them there. You can come back to them another day.
- Mental Relaxation and Wellbeing: To achieve good sleep, it's recommended to prioritise relaxation and well-being during the day. This could be a warm bath, listening to music or a cosy moment with a friend. In general, anything that brings you joy and relaxation.
